🌿 DTF Transfer Design & Image Guidelines

Please read before ordering to ensure the best print results.

✅ File Requirements

  • File type: Transparent PNG only (.png)

  • Resolution: 300 DPI (or higher), sized exactly as you want printed (or larger)

  • Do NOT mirror your artwork – we mirror automatically.

  • Remove backgrounds before submitting if you don’t want them printed.

  • White ink prints: If your image has a white box around it, it will print.

  • Lines must be at least 0.02pt thick to transfer properly.

  • Fonts must be converted to curves and flattened.

🎨 Colour Information

  • We do not check or match colours.

  • CMYK colour mode recommended.

  • We are not responsible for colour differences between screens and final prints.

⚠️ Artwork Details to Check

  • Fine print: Text under 0.35 inches tall may not print or transfer well.

  • Tiny details may not adhere. Add a stroke or thicken fine lines for best results.

  • No transparency, gradients, or drop shadows. These do not print as shown on your screen.

  • Check edge quality: Pixelated edges will print as a white outline.

🚫 Copyright & Trademark Policy

  • We cannot print trademarked or copyrighted images (Disney, NFL, brands, etc.) without written permission.

  • Screenshots, watermarked, or stolen images will not be printed.

  • Orders containing these will be cancelled and refunded.

  • If you have permission, email proof to info@urbanrose.biz.

❌ Vulgar or Offensive Content

We reserve the right to cancel orders with images or phrases inappropriate for children.

📦 Return Policy

How to Use Your DTF Transfer

✨ Please note: All heat presses vary in temperature and pressure, so these are general guidelines only. If this is your first time ordering with us, we recommend using your test print on scrap fabric first to determine the best temp, time, and pressure for your press.

1️⃣ Pre-Press Your Garment

  • Press for 5 seconds before applying your transfer.

  • This helps remove wrinkles and any moisture in the fabric.

2️⃣ First Press (Apply Transfer)

  • Temperature: 145°C

  • Time: 10 seconds

  • Pressure: Medium

  • Place your image in the desired position.

  • This is a hot peel transfer – after pressing, allow it to cool for a few seconds, then peel the film while warm.

  • If the image lifts, try peeling from another corner or repress briefly before peeling.

3️⃣ Second Press (Finish)

  • Cover with Teflon sheet (shiny finish) or parchment paper (matte finish).

  • Press at 145°C for 10 seconds with medium pressure.

Important Notes:

✅ Use firm, even pressure for the best adhesion.
✅ Avoid pressing over seams, pockets, zippers, or buttons.
✅ If you see edges lifting, you can repress for a few more seconds.

For Polyester & Blends:

  • Lower temp to 160°C, shorten time to 3-8 seconds.

  • These fabrics heat faster, so adjustments may be needed.

  • If the transfer does not adhere fully, you can repress multiple times (allowing fabric to cool between presses).

For 100% Polyester:

  • Lower temp to 120-140°C, shorten time to 3-8 seconds.

  • This fabric may require testing to find your optimal settings.

  • Repress if needed, ensuring fabric cools between presses.

✨ Tip: Always keep a pressing log with your temperature, time, and pressure for different garments to speed up your workflow.

🌿 How to Store DTF Transfers

The art of DTF isn’t just in pressing – it’s in storing them well to ensure vibrant, crisp prints when you’re ready to press.

🕒 How Long Do DTF Transfers Last?

  • For best results, we recommend using your transfers within 3–12 months.

  • If you cannot maintain ideal storage conditions, aim to press your transfers within 30 days to avoid quality degradation.

  • Under optimal conditions (cool, dry, away from sunlight), your transfers can last years.

⚠️ What Damages DTF Transfers?

Your transfers face four main enemies:

🔥 Temperature

  • Transfers store best at room temperature or slightly below.

  • Excessive heat can melt adhesives, causing transfers to stick together or lose effectiveness.

  • Avoid leaving transfers in hot cars, uncooled sheds, or direct sunlight.

💧 Moisture

  • High humidity (above 50%) can cause bubbles, peeling edges, or an oily feel.

  • Transfers should be stored in a climate-controlled environment.

  • If your transfers feel oily, gently wipe with a tissue before pressing.

☀️ Sunlight

  • Direct sun rays can activate glue even if room temperatures feel stable.

  • Always store out of direct sunlight to prevent heat concentration on transfer surfaces.

🌫️ Dust

  • Dust can stick to adhesive, reducing transfer effectiveness.

  • Keep your storage area clean and covered to avoid contamination.

✅ How to Store DTF Transfers Properly

1️⃣ Use Airtight Containers

  • Ziplock bags, sealed bins, or airtight folders protect from dust and moisture.

  • Expel as much air as possible before sealing to prevent moisture buildup.

2️⃣ Lay Flat

  • Store transfers flat, not bent or off the edge of shelves, to prevent creases or warping.

3️⃣ Avoid Over-Stacking

  • Do not create heavy piles; excess weight can damage transfers.

4️⃣ Interleave with Parchment Paper

  • Place parchment or copy paper between each transfer to prevent sticking during storage.

🛠️ Recommended Storage Supplies

These affordable, easy-to-find items help you keep your transfers in top condition:

✅ Resealable Ziplock Bags – Create a sealed, dust-free environment.
✅ Silica Gel Packets – Absorb moisture inside your storage container or bag.
✅ Parchment Paper – Prevents sticking if storing for longer than 1 month.
✅ Plastic Airtight Containers – For larger batches, providing sturdy, layered protection.

💡 Pro Tips for Long-Term Storage

  • Keep transfers in a cool, dry, dark place.

  • Limit handling – the less contact, the better.

  • Check stored transfers periodically to ensure they remain dry and flat.

  • Use silica packets especially during humid weather or shipping.

✨ Final Note:

Even the best-stored DTF transfers won’t last forever. Press within the recommended timeframe for best results.

By following these guidelines, you will ensure your DTF transfers press cleanly and beautifully, delivering professional-quality results every time.
